SOLANA BEACH, Calif., October 21, 2021 — HNM Systems, an award-winning staffing and consulting agency, announced the promotion of Emily Murphy to Vice President of Operations. The promotion recognized Emily’s people operations leadership and her contributions to employee development, talent acquisition, and organizational growth.
In her new role, Emily assumed responsibility for day-to-day operations, including HNM’s Recruiting and Delivery, Engineering, and People Operations teams and processes. She continued reporting to HNM Systems’ CEO and President, Heather Moyer.
Emily Murphy’s Background and Leadership Experience
Emily began her career at Target, where she held multiple leadership positions in Operations and Merchandising before becoming a Store Director. As Store Director, Emily successfully executed core people programs for a team of over 200 employees. She also built the infrastructure for key talent and development initiatives and managed more than $50 million in annual revenue.
In 2019, after more than nine years with Target, Emily joined HNM Systems as Head of People Operations. She began building a people strategy to support HNM’s future growth.
Strengthening People Operations at HNM Systems
During her time as Head of People Operations, Emily developed and implemented key learning and development programs. She also built and executed an enterprise-wide career mapping strategy.
Her accomplishments included:
- Improving talent acquisition and increasing internal employee and customer-assigned employee retention to more than 90%.
- Managing core employee engagement initiatives and maintaining nationwide compliance requirements.
- Helping develop and execute HNM’s COVID-19 strategy and roadmap, which enabled the company to retain or redeploy more than 100 employees contracted to customers.
These achievements demonstrated Emily’s ability to combine people operations leadership with a strategic approach to business growth.
