Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fiber Splicer to support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic systems across multiple project environments. This role plays a key part in ensuring reliable, high-quality network connectivity. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in fiber splicing, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in both aerial and underground settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform splicing and termination of fiber optic cables in various environments (aerial, underground, and indoor)
- Test and troubleshoot fiber optic systems using tools such as OTDR and power meters
- Maintain accurate documentation, including splicing diagrams and test results
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to plan and execute fiber installations
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while working in the field
- Conduct maintenance and repair of existing fiber networks as needed
- Stay current with industry advancements in fiber optic technology
- Support both routine (BAU) and project-based work across multiple network types
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ribbon splicing (preferred but not required)
- Experience with advanced troubleshooting and fiber network diagnostics
- Experience supporting a mix of BAU and large-scale fiber projects
Work Environment / Additional Information
- Field-based role with work across Indianapolis and South Bend markets
- Travel required within a 1–2 hour radius between project locations
- Mix of business-as-usual (BAU) work and project-based assignments, including large network builds
- Work performed in outdoor environments, including aerial and underground conditions
- Strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and quality execution
Compensation
- $25–$35/hour, based on experience
