Overview
We are seeking a hardworking and safety-focused Laborer to support telecommunications construction projects in Kalispell, MT. This role will work alongside drill operators, locators, and field crews to assist with underground utility installation, fiber and COAX construction, jobsite preparation, and restoration activities.
The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, is dependable, and is eager to learn and grow within the telecommunications construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with underground telecommunications construction projects, including fiber, COAX, and conduit installation.
- Support drill operators, locators, and field crews during boring and utility placement activities.
- Perform potholing, trenching, digging, hand excavation, and jobsite preparation as required.
- Load, unload, and transport tools, equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Assist with conduit placement, pullback operations, and restoration activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Read and follow utility markings, work orders, and directions from supervisors.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and other construction equipment as needed.
- Support basic equipment inspections and maintenance activities.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors regarding job-site conditions and progress.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Previous construction, utility, telecommunications, or outdoor labor experience preferred.
- Experience working around underground utilities, fiber, COAX, or conduit installation is a plus.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, digging, and working in various weather conditions.
- Comfortable working outdoors in changing field conditions.
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a crew.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment is preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to travel locally as needed for project work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Telecommunications construction experience.
- Underground utility construction experience.
- Fiber optic or COAX infrastructure project experience.
- Directional drilling support experience.
- Pipefitting, conduit installation, or related utility construction experience.
- CDL license preferred but not required.
