Why This Opportunity Stands Out
This role offers the opportunity to help deliver critical fiber infrastructure projects that expand connectivity and support future-ready networks. You will work across the full project life-cycle, partnering with engineering, design, permitting, and construction teams to bring complex telecommunications projects from concept to completion. The position is ideal for experienced OSP professionals seeking to leverage both field knowledge and project leadership skills while contributing to large-scale infrastructure initiatives. You'll have the opportunity to influence constructability, project execution, and overall network deployment success.
Overview
We are seeking an experienced OSP Project Manager to support fiber optic infrastructure projects from initial design through construction. This is a primarily office-based role that partners closely with OSP Designers, Engineers, Permitting, and Construction teams to ensure projects are designed for constructability and successfully delivered.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in outside plant (OSP) construction and engineering, understands both aerial and underground fiber deployments, and is highly proficient at reading and interpreting construction prints. This position is ideal for someone who has progressed from the field into project management—such as a Construction Manager or experienced OSP professional—and can bridge the gap between engineering and construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support fiber optic projects from planning and design through construction and closeout.
- Collaborate with OSP Designers and Engineers to develop practical, constructible network designs.
- Review aerial and underground fiber routes for constructability, feasibility, and cost efficiency.
- Interpret and review construction drawings, engineering prints, work packages, and as-built documentation.
- Conduct occasional field visits to validate designs, identify potential conflicts, and support construction activities.
- Coordinate route planning, permitting efforts, utility conflict resolution, and right-of-way considerations.
- Serve as the liaison between engineering, design, permitting, construction, and operations teams.
- Track project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and overall project progress.
- Provide regular project status updates to internal stakeholders and customers.
- Identify project risks early and recommend practical solutions to keep projects on schedule.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of OSP telecommunications experience.
- Strong understanding of both aerial and underground fiber optic construction.
- Experience working closely with OSP design and engineering teams.
- Highly proficient in reading and interpreting OSP construction drawings, engineering plans, and utility prints.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, engineering principles, and field operations.
- Experience supporting telecom construction projects from design through construction.
- Knowledge of permitting processes, utility coordination, and right-of-way requirements.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous OSP Project Management or Construction Management experience.
- Background in OSP Design or OSP Engineering.
- Experience with FTTH, FTTx, backbone, or middle-mile fiber deployments.
- Experience with AutoCAD, GIS, or other OSP design software.
- Utility, broadband, or telecommunications infrastructure experience.
