Overview
Our customer is seeking an experienced OSP Project Manager to support fiber optic construction projects from design through construction. This role works closely with OSP Designers, Engineers, Permitting teams, and Construction teams to ensure projects are designed appropriately, coordinated effectively, and prepared for successful construction execution.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong OSP construction background with expertise in aerial and underground fiber deployments and the ability to provide constructability guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Support fiber optic projects from planning through construction.
- Collaborate directly with OSP Designers to develop constructible network designs.
- Review aerial and underground fiber routes.
- Conduct field visits as needed to validate designs and identify potential obstacles.
- Assist with route planning, permitting coordination, and utility conflict resolution.
- Review construction drawings, work packages, and as-built documentation.
- Coordinate activities between design, permitting, construction, and operations teams.
- Monitor project schedules, deliverables, and key milestones.
- Provide project updates to internal stakeholders and customers.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of OSP telecommunications experience.
- Strong knowledge of aerial and underground fiber construction practices.
- Experience collaborating with OSP Design and Engineering teams.
- Ability to read and interpret OSP construction drawings and documentation.
- Experience supporting telecommunications construction projects.
- Understanding of permitting processes, utility coordination, and right-of-way requirements.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSP Project Management experience.
- OSP Design or OSP Engineering background.
- Experience with FTTH, FTTX, backbone, or middle-mile fiber networks.
- Experience using AutoCAD, GIS, or OSP design software.
- Utility, broadband, or telecommunications infrastructure experience.
