Overview
We are seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to oversee engineering design activities and ensure quality assurance and quality control across complex infrastructure projects. This role involves hands-on engineering review, technical leadership, and coordination of design resources while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. The engineer will be responsible for stamped deliverables where required and may contribute directly to the design and management of large or complex systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee engineering design activities and ensure adherence to QA/QC processes
- Review and evaluate design work for accuracy, safety, efficiency, and compliance
- Perform and/or review technical analyses including cable sizing, voltage drop, flicker, and system modelling
- Estimate engineering design effort and support project planning activities
- Coordinate and schedule design resources across multiple projects
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to civil and/or environmental engineering teams
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, codes, standards, and permitting requirements
- Stamp engineering drawings as required under applicable licensure
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) licence in the State of Virginia
- Willingness to obtain PE licensure in additional states as required
- Strong knowledge of applicable engineering regulations, codes, and standards
- Demonstrated experience overseeing engineering design for large and/or complex systems
- Ability to plan and manage work independently while meeting project deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Civil PE with experience in linear infrastructure projects and regulatory compliance
- Environmental PE with experience in environmental permitting and compliance oversight
