Overview
We are seeking a Project Controls Specialist to support project delivery through cost control, scheduling, reporting, and performance tracking. Working under the general supervision of a Project Controls Manager, this individual contributor role will lead small to medium-sized project control efforts and support complex phases of large infrastructure programmes. The position requires strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work with project teams, finance, suppliers, and stakeholders to gather project data and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist in developing and maintaining standardised project cost control and data management procedures
  • Utilise project management tools to manage, track, and report cost, schedule, and performance data
  • Prepare regular reports covering project costs, material status, risks, and performance metrics
  • Schedule and manage project meetings to review progress and address issues
  • Coordinate with construction, engineering, and field teams to obtain accurate progress updates
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal teams, contractors, and clients
  • Provide clear and timely updates on project status, milestones, and risks
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date project documentation and records
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify potential delays or cost issues
  • Collaborate with project teams to resolve conflicts, mitigate risks, and implement solutions
  • Escalate critical issues to project management or leadership as required
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of project milestone schedules and master project schedules
  • Lead scheduled review meetings to assess project status and develop alternatives when priorities change
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in project controls, scheduling, or related functions
  • Experience using tools such as Primavera, MS Project, Excel, Word, and SmartSheets
  • Fundamental understanding of project and construction management processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent organisational, multitasking, and time-management abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and projects
