Overview
We are seeking motivated individuals to participate in a paid Telecom Field Technician training program. This five-day hybrid training will provide hands-on exposure to coax and fiber network systems. Upon successful completion, candidates will transition into a full-time Coax Splicer role supporting telecommunications infrastructure projects in the Buffalo and Niagara Falls region.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform splicing, repair, and maintenance of coaxial cable systems
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair telecommunications network infrastructure
- Operate specialized splicing and cable termination tools
- Test and analyze network performance to ensure connectivity and quality standards
- Read and interpret network design prints, schematics, and documentation
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain organized field practices
- Travel locally to job sites as required
- All other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Interest in a hands-on, field-based technical career
- Previous field experience (construction, utilities, telecom, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn technical skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and field conditions
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Must be located in or near Buffalo / Niagara Falls, NY
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to telecommunications or cabling environments
- Basic understanding of network systems or infrastructure work
Work Environment / Additional Information
- Field-based role supporting both inside and outside plant environments
- 3rd shift (overnight) Monday–Friday schedule
- $25-30/hour
