Overview
Our customer is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Warehouse Specialist to support warehouse operations associated with telecommunications and cable infrastructure projects. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, organizing, tracking, and distributing materials, equipment, and cable products while maintaining inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and workplace safety.
The successful candidate will work closely with operations personnel and field teams to ensure materials are properly received, staged, tracked, and available to meet project schedules and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming cable products, reels, materials, and shipments; inspect for quality and quantity accuracy.
- Load, unload, and move materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment.
- Pick, pack, stage, and prepare orders for shipment according to customer and company requirements.
- Accurately label, scan, and track inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP systems.
- Organize and maintain warehouse storage areas for cable reels, wire products, accessories, and related inventory.
- Conduct cycle counts and assists with physical inventory audits.
- Inspect cable products and materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report issues promptly.
- Maintain shipping and receiving documentation and ensure records are accurate.
- Follow all safety procedures related to warehouse operations and cable handling practices.
- Keep warehouse facilities clean, organized, and compliant with company standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with supervisors and team members to meet shipping deadlines and meet customer expectations.
- All duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–3 years of warehouse experience preferred; cable, manufacturing, or industrial distribution experience is a plus.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification).
- Basic computer skills and experience with inventory systems or warehouse software.
- Ability to read shipping documents, packing lists, and product labels.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
- Ability to safely handle heavy cable reels and related materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cable products, wire distribution, telecommunications, electrical components, or industrial materials.
- Familiarity with barcode scanning and warehouse management systems.
- Previous experience in shipping/receiving and inventory control.
Work Environment / Additional Information
