Overview
Our customer is seeking an experienced Senior Java Application Developer to design, develop, and support enterprise applications and services in a modern cloud-based environment. This role combines hands-on software engineering with application architecture responsibilities and requires expertise in Java development, API design, security best practices, and scalable solution development.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical leadership capabilities, cloud experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with distributed global teams and US-based business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications with a primary focus on Java-based technologies.
- Contribute to application architecture, solution design, technical patterns, integrations, APIs, and scalable application components.
- Develop secure, scalable, and reliable backend services using Java and modern frameworks.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Participate in application design, development, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and production support activities.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and code development.
- Apply secure coding standards and support security requirements throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot application issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement effective resolutions.
- Support integrations between applications, APIs, databases, cloud services, and enterprise platforms.
- Participate in architecture discussions, technical reviews, and development best practices.
- Support front-end integration and user interface development as needed.
- Contribute to cloud-based application initiatives leveraging AWS technologies.
- Support infrastructure automation and deployment processes where applicable.
- Collaborate effectively across global and cross-functional teams.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of software development experience.
- Strong hands-on Java development experience.
- Experience designing scalable enterprise applications, services, APIs, integrations, and application components.
- Experience building enterprise applications and backend services.
- Expertise with Spring and/or Spring Boot.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, application integration concepts, and modern application architecture.
- Experience using AI-assisted software development tools within day-to-day engineering workflows.
- Understanding of application security principles and secure software development practices.
- Experience with relational databases and SQL.
- Experience working in cloud-based application environments.
- Experience with source control, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software engineering methodologies.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS cloud experience including application deployment and architecture support.
- Experience with cloud architecture and solution design.
- Experience with CloudFormation and/or Terraform.
- Experience implementing Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals and cloud networking concepts.
- Application security or cybersecurity-related development experience.
- Experience supporting highly scalable enterprise applications.
- Experience contributing to architecture documentation and solution design deliverables.
- Experience using modern AI-assisted coding platforms in enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with modern UI technologies and full-stack development.
- Experience working directly with US-based stakeholders and globally distributed teams.
