Overview
Our customer is seeking an experienced Senior Python AI & Cloud Engineer to design, develop, and implement scalable cloud-native applications and intelligent AI-driven solutions. This role combines advanced software engineering, AWS cloud architecture, AI agent development, and technical leadership to deliver high-impact platforms supporting enterprise-scale business operations.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Python development, distributed systems, cloud engineering, AI technologies, and modern software delivery practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement scalable, secure, and highly available cloud-native solutions on AWS.
- Build and maintain distributed applications using Python and modern frameworks including FastAPI, Flask, Django, and AsyncIO.
- Design and implement AI-powered applications utilizing LLMs, agentic workflows, tool-calling frameworks, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures.
- Develop REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven integrations for enterprise-scale applications.
- Architect and support machine learning and MLOps platforms using tools such as AWS SageMaker, Kubeflow, and MLflow.
- Lead cloud modernization initiatives utilizing AWS Well-Architected Framework principles.
- Create intelligent workflow automation and decisioning solutions through AI agents and orchestration frameworks.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices to improve deployment velocity and platform reliability.
- Integrate applications with Kafka, RabbitMQ, Amazon SQS, and other asynchronous messaging technologies.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with architects, product managers, data scientists, and globally distributed engineering teams.
- Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
- Mentor engineers and drive software engineering best practices across teams.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and architectural guidelines.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, automation capabilities, and AI engineering practices.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 5+ years of experience designing and deploying cloud-native solutions on AWS.
- Strong Python development experience including FastAPI, Flask, Django, AsyncIO, and API development.
- Experience building AI-powered or agentic applications in production environments.
- Hands-on experience integrating large language models such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar platforms.
- Experience with prompt engineering, tool calling, AI workflows, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and event-driven integrations.
- Expertise with AWS services including EKS, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, S3, RDS, Aurora, and SageMaker.
- Experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, and data modeling.
- Experience working with Docker and modern CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of software testing frameworks and software delivery best practices.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
- Demonstrated technical leadership experience, including architecture reviews and mentoring engineers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar multi-agent orchestration frameworks.
- Experience with vector databases and semantic search technologies.
- Experience with Kafka event streaming platforms.
- Familiarity with Redis and distributed caching solutions.
- Experience with AI observability and MLOps tooling.
- Knowledge of ELK Stack or Kibana monitoring.
- Experience in financial services, credit bureau, risk, or decisioning platforms.
