Overview
We are seeking Telecom Technicians to support residential pre-wiring projects throughout San Diego County. This role involves installing RG6 cabling in new construction homes prior to drywall installation, ensuring proper routing from central distribution points to outlet locations. Candidates should be comfortable working in construction environments and performing physically active tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Run and secure RG6 cable from central panels to designated wall outlets
- Drill through framing and route wiring according to layout plans
- Install and organize low-voltage cabling in new residential builds
- Follow floor plans and coordinate with on-site construction teams
- Work safely on ladders and within active job sites
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Assist with tagging, toning, and testing of lines (if experienced)
Required Qualifications
- Experience with basic wiring, drilling, or construction-related tasks
- Comfortable working at heights and performing physical labor
- Familiarity with hand and power tools
- Ability to follow directions and read basic layouts
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass background and badging requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with RG6, Cat5e, or Cat6 cabling
- Background in residential construction or low-voltage installation
- Familiarity with structured cabling or smart home systems
- Experience with cable tagging, toning, or testing
Work Environment / Travel / Schedule
- Onsite work in residential construction environments
- Projects located across San Diego County (including Chula Vista, Vista, and Oceanside)
- Work performed before drywall installation in active build sites
- Local travel between job sites may be required
